Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Thakurnagar

Ashrama Building
This Weaving-cum-Tailoring Training centre started informally in 1980 in two rooms of a school in the village of Thakurnagar. In July 1983, the centre shifted to its own premises on a piece of land donated to the Mission by some well-wishers of the village and in September of the same year, was made a formal branch of the Mission. The object of the centre is to give an opportunity to girls to acquire some vocational training like weaving, knitting, printing, tailoring & embroidery and at the same time to earn so that gradually they become self-supporting. They are also given free tiffin daily. A small hostel building accommodates those trainees who come from distant villages.
