Sri Sarada Math, Almora, Uttarakhand

Formally opened in April 1998, Sri Sarada Math, Almora commands a magnificent view of the Himalayan snow-peaks, and is in proximity to the Kasar Devi Cave Temple, where Swami Vivekananda had meditated in 1890. The Math conducts daily worship, Ramnam Sankirtan on Ekadashi days, birthday celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda and some other religious festivals. The Math also conducts the following welfare activities:

A Charitable Homeopathic Dispensary for the people of nearby villages.
A free Knitting Class, where about 80 village women are taught knitting for which they get remuneration. Wool and other primary materials are provided to them, free of cost.
A Free Computer class for girls and women; a certificate is given to them on completion of the six months’ course.
A Free Sunday School for children to inculcate in them higher values; Spiritual and cultural classes for the ladies are also held regularly.

Extensive relief work was conducted at the time of Cloud Burst in 2010 and also during Covid-19 pandemic (2020-21).
Pilgrims and devotees visit the Math throughout the year.
