Pravrajika Umaprana (Jalaja)

We are sorry to record the passing away of Pravrajika Umaprana (Jalaja), age 82, at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevapratishthan on 9th October at 2.40 p.m. due to complete heart block, Alzheimer's disease and other complications. However, the end was peaceful.

A disciple of Pravrajika Bharatiprana, she joined the Order at Vivekananda Vidyabhavan in 1963. She was initiated into Brahmacharya by Pravrajika Bharatiprana in 1972 and received Sannyasa from Pravrajika Mokshaprana in 1975. Apart from the headquarters, at different times she served a few of our centres in and outside Bengal. Mention may be made of the Khonsa centre in Arunachal Pradesh where she served for 16 years mainly as in-charge of the kitchen.

Simple and active she did all her duties with almost care. May her soul rest in peace!

If you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather learn to see your own faults. Make the whole world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; this is your own.
