Revered President Mataji is keeping well at the headquarters.
Revered Pravrajika Anandapranaji, Vice President was admitted to the Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan on 25th January 2022 due to pneumonia and other complications.On 23rd February Revered Mataji was brought back to the Math. Her condition is still critical.
News from Headquarters
12th January – the National Youth Day, was observed at the headquarters, with a procession in the Math premises by the Sannyasinis, Brahmacharinis, a few devotees and some students. There was a meeting at the Math premises. The programme was Livestreamed on YouTube channel.
The 159th birthday of Srimat Swami Vivekananda was celebrated at Sri Sarada Math on Tuesday, 25th January, 2022 with special puja, homa, Chandipath etc. In the afternoon, there was a ladies’ meeting presided over by Pravrajika Amalaprana, General Secretary. Pravrajikas Prabudhhaprana, Atmabodhaprana and Amitabhaprana spoke on the life and teachings of Swamiji.

Obituaries
With deep sorrow we record the passing away of three Sannyasinis during the month of December 2021:
Pravrajika Devanandaprana (Anjana)
Pravrajika Devanandaprana (Anjana), age 60, passed away on 21 December 2021 at 5.55 a.m. at the Headquarters due to cardio respiratory failure in a case of metastatic ovarian carcinoma. She was conscious and the end was peaceful.
In 2017 she was diagnosed 4th stage of cancer which had already spread to other organs. She underwent hysterectomy after which she was given I.V. chemotherapy. After two cycles she continued to be under oral chemotherapy treatment. However in 2021, her condition deteriorated; but doctors could not give another course of chemotherapy. So she was put under palliative treatment.
A disciple of Swami Bhuteshananda, she joined the Order at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan in 1986. After spending one year in Nivedita School, she came to the headquarters in 1988 and was initiated into Brahmacharya in 1990. She was invested with Sannyasa on 1st January 1997 by Pravrajika Mokshaprana. At different times she served at Nivedita School, the Ashrama at Entally and at the headquarters. She was transferred to Sri Sarada, Sihore in 2005.
Simple and affectionate, she will be missed at the Sihore Math. May her soul rest in peace!
Pravrajika Tapasaprana (Gita)
Pravrajika Tapasaprana (Gita), age 68, passed away on 31 December 2021 at 1.50 p.m. at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matribhavan hospital due to cardio-respiratory failure in a case of bronchial asthma and diabetes.
Craniopharyngioma, a rare brain tumor was detected in 2004 for which she underwent surgery. As the tumor had recurred, she underwent a second operation in Mumbai in 2007. This was followed by a course of radiation. However, she did not recover completely. In October 2021, other complications increased for which she was admitted to Peerless Hospital where she remained till December when she was shifted to Matribhavan hospital. She was in a comatose state when she breathed her last.
A disciple of Swami Bhuteshananda, she joined the Order at Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Nivedita School in 1981 where she stayed till 1983. After spending two years in the headquarters she was transferred to the New Delhi Centre in 1986 and returned to the headquarters in 1989. She was then sent as a temporary worker to Sarada Kutir, Varanasi. In 1990 she was transferred to the newly started Mission Centre at Gangarampore where she remained till the end. Initiated into Brahmacharya in 1987 by Pravrajika Mokshaprana, she was invested with Sannyasa in 1994.
Versatile, active and spirited, she gave herself heart and soul for the development of the Gangarampore Centre. May her soul rest in peace!
Pravrajika Devatmaprana (Kalpana)
Pravrajika Devatmaprana (Kalpana), age 70, passed away on 31 December 2021 at 9.45 p.m. at Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matribhavan hospital due to cardio respiratory failure in a case of stage IV ovarian carcinoma.
From 2015 she was suffering from cancer for which she underwent hysterectomy. This was followed by a course of chemotherapy. In 2018 she again underwent operation for breast cancer after which she was given chemotherapy and radiation. Since two-three months, she experienced pain in the legs for which her doctor advised to do a CT scan. The report revealed that the cancer has spread throughout her bones. All along she tried to continue to do her duties. However, from 17th December, she became bedridden. As her condition worsened, on 29th she was shifted to Matribhavan hospital where she passed away peacefully. She was conscious till the end.
A disciple of Pravrajika Mokshaprana, she joined the Order in 1979 at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Ashrama, Entally. Soon after, she was sent to the Mission Centre at Khonsa for about 2 years. Then she came to headquarters in 1982. In 1984 she was sent to Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan where she stayed till 1986. She also served at the Ashrama, Entally and at the headquarters. Initiated into Brahmacharya in 1984 by Pravrajika Mokshaprana she was invested with Sannyasa in 1989. In April 1990 she was transferred to Vivekananda Vidyabhavan where she took charge of the library and remained at the centre till the end.
Sweet and humble, she endeared herself by her gentle behaviour. May her soul rest in peace!
