Pravrajika Kshamaprana (Meera)

We are sorry to record the sudden passing away of Pravrajika Kshamaprana (Meera), age 79, on Monday 27th September 2021 at 9.10 pm at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevapratishthan due to cardiac failure.

From December 2015 onwards her health declined following a fall which caused a massive brain hemorrhage. Thereafter she could not walk steadily hence had to be moved with a wheelchair. However with the help of others she tried to continue her work as far as possible. But on 16th September she sustained a cerebral stroke and soon became unconscious for which she was admitted to Sevapratishthan where she remained till the end.

A disciple of Swami Vireshwarananda she joined the Order at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Sister Nivedita Girls’ School in 1966 where she remained till 1968, after which she came to the headquarters at Dakshineswar for two years. She was initiated into Brahmacharya in 1971 by Pravrajika Bharatiprana, the first President of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission and received Sannyasa in 1976 from Pravrajika Mokshaprana, the second President of Sri Sarada Math & Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. From 1970 till 1989 at different times she served in different capacities at Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Shiksha Mandir, Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Ashrama, Sri Sarada Math, Pune, Sister Nivedita Girls’ School, Sri Sarada Math, Varanasi and headquarters. From 1990 she was transferred to the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Gangarampore mainly looking after the garden which she did with great care.

Very austere, intense and active, her name will remain associated with the beautiful garden she created at the Gangarampore centre. May her soul rest in peace!

If you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather learn to see your own faults. Make the whole world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; this is your own.
