Pravrajika Ashokaprana (Sharvani)
With deep sorrow we record the passing away of Pravrajika Ashokaprana (Sharvani) age 94 at the headquarters Sri Sarada Math, Dakshineswar on Monday, the 12th July 2021 (Rathayatra day) at 2.40 p.m. due to pneumonitis leading to cardiac arrest. The end was peaceful.
A few days prior to her demise, she developed slight fever and cold with lungs congestion. Though she was put on oxygen support, oxygen saturation and blood pressure continued to fall beyond control.
A disciple of Swami Yatishwarananda, she joined the Order in 1956. She was initiated into Brahmacharya in January 1962 and was invested with Sannyasa in December 1965 by Pravrajika Bharatiprana the first President of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. From 1959 to 1981, she served mainly as accountant in different branch centres of the Math and the Mission, namely, the Ashrama in Entally, Vivekananda Vidyabhavan, Nivedita School and centres in Chennai, Bangalore, Thrissur, Trivandrum and Matribhavan, from where she returned to the headquarters where she worked in the office. Thereafter she stayed at the headquarters where she was given charge of the shrine, which duty she performed with great dedication and joy for 20 years. Afterwards she withdrew from active life.
A perfectionist in everything she did, she could accomplish any task given to her. Simple and childlike by nature, she would draw affection from all those who came to her. May her soul rest in peace!
Pravrajika Vishwadevaprana (Shankary)
We are sorry to record the sudden passing away of Pravrajika Vishwadevaprana (Shankary) age 64 at Sri Sarada Math, Mavelikara, a sub centre of Thrissur Math on Tuesday, 27th July 2021 at 3.30 a.m. due to massive heart attack.
A month prior to her demise she visited the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Trivandrum and complained of breathing difficulty and some discomfort in the heart region. She was advised to consult a doctor which she ignored completely. On the previous day i.e. 26th July, she distributed clothes to 12 houses of bedridden patients. After coming back to the ashrama, she had dinner and seemed quite alright. However, in the middle of the night she complained of severe back pain and was drenched in sweat with extreme breathing difficulty. With the help of neighbours she was taken to the hospital with great difficulty, but in vain as she was no more.
A Disciple of Pravrajika Mokshaprana, she joined the Order in 1982 at Sri Sarada Math, Thrissur. She was initiated into Brahmacharya in 1988 and was invested with Sannyasa in January 1994. She served as a teacher in the school of Thrissur Math. She again came to the headquarters in April 2008 and returned to Thrissur in December of the same year, after staying for some time at Gangarampur and Guntur centres. From Thrissur she was transferred to the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Calicut. Later, she was given charge of Mavelikara sub centre, when it was started in 2018. There, she stayed till the end.
Active, spirited and independent by nature, she was always eager to do Swamiji's work and would inspire devotees. May her soul rest in peace!
If you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather learn to see your own faults. Make the whole world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; this is your own.
