Pravrajika Putaprana (Sarojini)
We record with deep sorrow the sudden passing away of Pravrajika Putaprana (Sarojini), age 67 at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Siriti on Wednesday, 16th September, 2020 at 3.30 a.m. due to cardiorespiratory failure in a case of cancer stage 4. She was conscious.
From 2019 she suffered from back pain for which she was treated by an Orthopedic Doctor. As her condition worsened, on 26th August she was brought from the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Thakurnagar to the Siriti centre for further investigations. She underwent various tests which revealed that she had stage 4 Adenocarcinoma with metastasis in liver, spine, head and neck region for which she was given oral chemotherapy as support. She was also given morphine for the pain which was increasing. During the last days she suffered breathing difficulty. However, the end was peaceful.
A disciple of Swami Vireshwarananda, she joined at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Thakurnagar in 1984. She underwent a course of weaving in 1985 staying at the Nivedita School, after which she came to the headquarters in 1986 and returned to the Thakurnagar centre in 1988. She was initiated into Brahmacharya in 1990 and received Sannyasa in 1995 by Pavrajika Mokshaprana, second President of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. She gave herself heart and soul to improve the production of the weaving section in the Thakurnagar centre, which drew the admiration of many. Up to the end, before leaving for the Siriti centre, she worked very hard, not caring for her health.
Sincere and dedicated, she was indeed a perfectionist. Her name will ever be associated with the weaving section of the centre. May her soul rest in peace!
If you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather learn to see your own faults. Make the whole world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; this is your own.
