News from Headquarters

As every year ‘Vivek Mela’ was organized at the headquarters on 14th and 15th January.



During February 2020, Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Sevayan, the charitable dispensary at Dakshineswar organized a medical camp for village children (No. of beneficiaries: 60), blood screening camp for the mothers (No. of cases screened: 70) and eye camp (No. of tests: 75).



News from Branch Centres

Among the students of Arunachal Pradesh, four students of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Khonsa School and one student of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Dirang School, who were toppers for the CBSE Examination 2018-19, were invited to attend the Republic Day Celebration 2020 at New Delhi.



12th Shoke Kanazawa Cup International Karate Championship was organized on 18th and 19th January 2020 in Nepal.

The Karate team of Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, and India participated in the championship. The Indian team won 34 medals out of which 10 students of Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Kamptee, won 10 medals including 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. One of them won the gold medal in the 45 kg Kumite fight and made the country proud by winning the title of the best player in the competition. All the students gave the entire credit to their coaches, and to the School.



Obituaries

Pravrajika Sadayaprana (Yashoda)

With deep sorrow we record the sudden passing away of Pravrajika Sadayaprana (Yashoda), age 80, on 19th January 2020 at 4.20 pm. at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevapratishthan due to cardiac arrest following pneumonia with sepsis. She was in coma.

Suffering from severe asthma since many years, she later developed diabetes, hypertension and ischemic heart. On 2nd January she was brought to Kolkata from Khonsa for acute breathlessness and was immediately admitted to the Sevapratishthan ICU. She sustained a few episodes of cardiac arrest, after which she entered into coma from where she did not come out.

A disciple of Swami Yatiswarananda, she joined in 1972 at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Khonsa. She was initiated into Brahmacharya in 1983 and was invested into Sannyasa in 1989 by Pravrajika Mokshaprana, the 2nd President of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. She served the Khonsa centre for 9 years after joining, where she taught music and drawing to the children. She stayed at different times at the headquarters and Sri Sarada Math centres at Bangalore and Chennai for one year each. She again returned to Khonsa where she remained all along, except for a few months at the Math centre at Chikmagalur and the Mission centre at Dirang.

Affectionate, talented and meticulous in her work, she will be remembered as one of the pioneers of the Khonsa centre. May her soul rest in peace!
