Pravrajika Sadayaprana (Yashoda)

With deep sorrow we record the sudden passing away of Pravrajika Sadayaprana (Yashoda), age 80, on 19th January 2020 at 4.20 pm. at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevapratishthan due to cardiac arrest following pneumonia with sepsis. She was in coma.

Suffering from severe asthma since many years, she later developed diabetes, hypertension and ischemic heart. On 2nd January she was brought to Kolkata from Khonsa for acute breathlessness and was immediately admitted to the Sevapratishthan ICU. She sustained a few episodes of cardiac arrest, after which she entered into coma from where she did not come out.

A disciple of Swami Yatiswarananda, she joined in 1972 at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Khonsa. She was initiated into Brahmacharya in 1983 and was invested into Sannyasa in 1989 by Pravrajika Mokshaprana, the 2nd President of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. She served the Khonsa centre for 9 years after joining, where she taught music and drawing to the children. She stayed at different times at the headquarters and Sri Sarada Math centres at Bangalore and Chennai for one year each. She again returned to Khonsa where she remained all along, except for a few months at the Math centre at Chikmagalur and the Mission centre at Dirang.

Affectionate, talented and meticulous in her work, she will be remembered as one of the pioneers of the Khonsa centre. May her soul rest in peace!

If you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather learn to see your own faults. Make the whole world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; this is your own.
