Obituary
Pravrajika Vikashprana (Ranu)
With deep sorrow we record the sudden passing away of Pravrajika Vikashprana (Ranu), age 80, at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Ashrama at Entally on Saturday, 30th November 2019 at 9.35 p.m. due to cardiac-respiratory failure. The end was peaceful.
Since a few years she suffered from various ailments and bilateral optic nerve atrophy which rendered her blind. For the last eight years, she remained bed ridden and bore all sufferings silently.
A disciple of Swami Vishuddhananda, she joined the Order at the headquarters in 1960. She was initiated into Brahmacharya in 1965 and was invested with Sannyasa on 2.1.1971 by Pravrajika Bharatiprana, the first President of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. She remained at the headquarters till 1963, after which, at different times, she served in Matribhavan, Chennai Math, Vivekananda Vidyabhavan etc. She also spent a few months in Thakurnagar centre. From April 1987, she was appointed Secretary of Shiksha Mandir where she stayed till 1994. Then she was transferred to the Ashrama at CIT where she remained till the end.
Simple, humble and affectionate she will be remembered fondly by those who came to know her. May her soul rest in peace!
If you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather learn to see your own faults. Make the whole world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; this is your own.
