Obituary

Pravrajika Mitraprana (Rasmani)

We are sorry to record the passing away of Pravrajika Mitraprana (Rasmani) age 77, on Monday 2nd September 2019 at 3.50 p.m. at the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital in Trivandrum due to intestinal obstruction and pulmonary embolism.

She suffered since long with health problems and was detected with intestinal strangulations and adhesions mainly due to weakness. In spite of treatment she was often hospitalized. Recently she underwent an operation to relieve her from adhesions. However, though she was in the hospital for almost three months her condition continued to deteriorate leading to the fatal end.

A disciple of Swami Yatiswarananda, she joined the Sarada Mandiram in Thrissur in 1962. She was initiated into Brahmacharya in 1967 and was invested with Sannyasa in 1972 by Pravrajika Bharatiprana, the first President of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. All along she served Sri Sarada Math, Thrissur in various capacities till 1974, when she was sent to the new centre of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission in Trivandrum where she served in the office etc. Later she was appointed Treasurer, office which she retained till the end.

In spite of her weak health, she devotedly served the Order. Humble and loving, she endeared herself to all. May her soul rest in peace!
