The Thrissur centre with its sub-centre at Mavelikara, and the centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Calicut selected 300 families each, which were worst-affected by the floods. Each family received the following items: (1) one kit containing food materials, such as rice, dal, oil, sugar, spices etc., (2) one kit containing clothes (blankets, towels, in-skirts, lungis etc.) and (3) one kit containing kitchen vessels, plates, glasses, buckets etc. Besides, 40 water tanks of 500 litre capacity were distributed in an area where there was severe shortage of drinking water. For the above relief, the headquarters and our centres contributed generously and donations were received from friends and devotees from India and abroad. In the next phase, rehabilitation work may be taken up.
