A spiritual retreat was held on 4th and 5th August 2018 at Sri Sarada Math, Pune.

A spiritual retreat was held on 4th and 5th August 2018 at Sri Sarada Math, Pune. About 125 attended the retreat. After the opening session, Pravrajika Amalaprana, General Secretary spoke on Srimad Bhagavatam’s episode – Putana Moksha Leela and Brahma Stuti. On the second day she spoke on the life of Ramendra Sunder Bhattacharya (Author of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Bhagavatam) and Holy Mother in the eyes of Sister Nivedita. On the two days, Pravrajika Ambaraprana of Sri Sarada Math, Varanasi spoke on Kabir and Thakur, Ma & Swamiji and also on Hanuman & Swami Vivekananda. After some bhajans, the retreat ended with group discussion and quiz.

A two-day state level residential youth retreat was organized at Sri Sarada Math, Pune on 11th and 12th August 2018. Theme : Arouse the lion within you. About 210 delegates participated from Nasik, Kolhapur, Satara, Ahmednagar, Mumbai etc. After the Yogasana session in the morning and the inaugural programme, Pravrajika Atandraprana, Assistant Secretary gave a lecture with ppt on how to remove mind blocks and to achieve positivity. This was followed by a Question-Answer session. There were also some bhajans, after which Pravrajika Divyanandaprana of New Delhi centre spoke on “Mind Mechanics” with the help of ppt. A Question-Answer session followed. The programme included a documentary in English on Sister Nivedita. There was also a workshop on removing mind blocks.

On the second day, Pravrajika Atandraprana spoke on the same topic, giving examples of great women mainly Savitribai Phule, Sister Nivedita and Subbalakshmi, while Pravrajika Divyanandaprana gave a clear concept of Vedanta. The retreat ended with a group discussion on Yama, Niyama followed by a Kirtan on Sister Nivedita.

The Foundation also honoured Sm. Swarupa Banerjee, a senior assistant teacher of the School with the “Lifetime achievement Award for a teacher”.
